Peace of mind comes first
Meeting people is easier when you’re sure of the person you’re talking to — and sure your data stays put. Here’s how we handle it, and what you can do yourself.
What we do
We review every profile
New profiles and every uploaded photo are checked by a moderator. Stolen pictures, explicit content and “services” never reach the feed.
We verify photos
A member can take a selfie with a given gesture. If the face matches the profile, a verification badge appears on it.
We guard access
The site runs over HTTPS only, passwords are stored as hashes, and repeated login attempts are blocked. Only the two of you see your conversation.
We hold back spam
Email confirmation and contacts for new conversations make mass messaging “everyone at once” pointless.
What you decide
At Gulun, privacy is on by default, not on request. Everything else is in your settings.
Invisible mode
Browse profiles without leaving a trace in “Visitors”, and hide your online status.
Private photos
Personal photos are visible only to those you’ve given access. You can revoke it at any time.
Blocking
A blocked person will no longer find you in search, open your profile or message you.
Reports and consequences
You can report a profile or a message — the button is right in the profile and in the chat. A moderator reviews the report within 24 hours.
Breaking the rules gets a member restricted: they can’t message, send broadcasts or appear in search. Repeated or serious violations mean a ban with no way back.
We’re especially strict about offers of escort or paid intimate services, requests for money and deception. Such accounts are deleted immediately.
First date: a few habits
- Take your time. A couple of days of chatting and a short video call will tell you more about a person than a dozen photos.
- Ask for a “here and now” photo — with a gesture or a note. A genuine person won’t be offended.
- Choose a public place: a café, a restaurant, the seafront. Don’t agree to go straight to someone’s home or a hotel.
- Tell someone close to you where and with whom you’re meeting, and share your location.
- No money transfers before you meet — not “for a taxi”, not “for a ticket”. Any such request is a reason to report.
- If you’re being rushed, pressured or simple questions are dodged, it’s better to cancel. Intuition is rarely wrong.

Gulun is for adults only. Age is given at sign-up, and profiles of anyone under 18 are never published. If a profile seems doubtful, let us know — we’ll check it first.
